THE PROBLEM

Your staff are already using AI. Nobody trained them how.

Every workforce is quietly using AI on personal phones — to write messages, summarize documents, get through the day. The risk isn't that they use it. It's that no one has shown them what's safe to type in and what could expose private or regulated information. In healthcare, one organization was fined $1 million for AI misuse. The protection is training. That's what I build.

The Course Engine

First Shift

One course engine, rebuilt for every industry. Frontline and entry-level staff learn in eight 10-minute "shifts" — watch a short video, do one real task on their phone, answer a quick check. About 80 minutes total, completed on breaks over two weeks. Grade-8 plain English, zero jargon. Every edition is tailored to a sector's real work and privacy obligations — the scenarios change, the engine stays the same.

  • A must-pass privacy module: exactly what can and can never go into AI, for your sector
  • Certificate of Workplace AI Literacy, signed by a licensed Ontario teacher
  • Before-and-after evidence report for the employer
  • Built on learning science: short, hands-on, spaced over days

Available across every vertical — healthcare and homecare, education, finance, trades, retail and hospitality, manufacturing and logistics, agriculture, and transportation. The homecare edition is live now; others build on the same engine, ready in weeks.

Get useful answers using what only you know about the job.

The must-pass privacy gate — what never goes into AI.

SHIFT 5

The Annoying Parts of Your Job

Use AI on the real time drains, start to finish.

SHIFT 6

Your Judgment Is the Product

When NOT to use AI — and why the call is yours.

SHIFT 7

SHIFT 8

Speak Up

Show one real task you improved — the capstone.

WHO IT'S FOR

Every vertical. One engine, tailored to each.

Same 8-shift structure, rebuilt for each industry's real work and real privacy obligations. The compliance-heavy sectors come first — but any workforce can have its own edition.

Healthcare & Homecare

PSWs, caregivers, and clinic staff — trained on exactly what patient information never goes into AI, aligned to Ontario health privacy law.

Education

Teachers navigating AI now embedded in the Ontario curriculum — how to use it well and what student information to protect.

Finance & Professional Services

Staff handling client and financial data — using AI productively without exposing regulated or confidential information.

Trades & Construction

Site crews, estimators, and office staff — practical AI for quotes, scheduling, and paperwork, with less red tape.

Retail & Hospitality

Front-line service teams — faster customer messages, translations, and daily tasks, with clear rules on customer data.

Manufacturing & Logistics

Floor and warehouse staff — AI for checklists, summaries, and shift handoffs, built for people who aren't at a desk.

Agriculture & Natural Resources

Farm, food, and resource teams — plain-language AI for records, planning, and communication in the field.

Transportation

Drivers, dispatch, and operations — AI that works on a phone, for logs, messages, and everyday problem-solving.

Don't see yours? Every edition is custom-built — name the industry and the job, and we build the scenarios around it.

NATIONAL ALIGNMENT

Built for Canada's national AI strategy

Canada's national AI strategy — AI for All — sets a clear goal: every worker, in every region, able to engage with AI from a position of strength. Its National AI Literacy Initiative calls for foundational, hands-on training that helps people understand AI, use AI, and build with it. First Shift delivers exactly that at the frontline — in plain language, on the job, in the sectors the strategy prioritizes: health, agriculture, manufacturing, energy, and transportation — and through eligible training providers and post-secondary partners.

Understand

What AI is, what it isn't, and where human judgment stays in charge.

Use

Real tasks, done safely, on the tools staff already carry.

Build

Reusable prompts and simple helpers that fit each person's role.

FUNDING

Government funding can cover a large share

For eligible private-sector employers, the Ontario Job Grant covers a significant portion of training costs when delivered through an approved provider. I prepare the quotes and paperwork for every application — so training your whole team costs a fraction of what it looks like.

1

We scope the cohort

Which team, which sector edition, how many staff.

2

I handle the grant paperwork

Eligibility, quotes, and provider documentation — done for you.

3

Your team trains on their phones

Ten minutes a day on breaks. No shifts to cover.

4

You get proof it worked

Certificates for every completer and a before-and-after evidence report.

FAQ

Questions employers ask

Who are these AI courses for?

Frontline and entry-level employees in regulated and service industries — healthcare and homecare, education, finance, trades, retail and hospitality. They're built for people who use their phones at work, not desks.

Can these courses be funded by the Ontario Job Grant?

Yes. When delivered through an eligible training provider, private-sector employers can apply for the Ontario Job Grant, which covers a significant share of eligible training costs. Britelite prepares the quotes and provider documentation for each application.

What makes First Shift different from generic AI training?

It's sector-specific, mobile-first, and built around compliance. Each edition is tailored to the industry's real privacy obligations, delivered in 10-minute modules staff complete on breaks, and produces a before-and-after evidence report for the employer.

Are the courses compliance-focused?

Yes. Every course includes a must-pass privacy module covering exactly what information can and cannot be entered into AI tools, aligned to the relevant Ontario and federal regulations for that sector.

Who teaches the courses?

Claire Bouvier, a licensed Ontario Certified Teacher with over 15 years of classroom and corporate training experience, an international AI keynote speaker, and founder of Britelite Strategies Inc.

What sectors do you build courses for?

Healthcare and homecare, education, finance, trades, retail and hospitality, manufacturing and logistics, agriculture, and transportation. Custom editions can be built for any industry or job function.

How does this align with Canada's national AI strategy?

First Shift delivers the foundational, hands-on AI literacy called for by Canada's national AI strategy, AI for All, and its National AI Literacy Initiative — helping frontline workers understand AI, use AI, and build with it, in the priority sectors the strategy names, through eligible providers and post-secondary partners.
